The clock is now counting down until your Picks for Season 25/26 need to be submitted.
The Picks - Season 25/26
Before a ball is kicked in the new season, you will need to make your Pre-Season predictions and decide on the teams you will back to do well in the League and in various Cups they take part in.
In addition you'll make your Squad Selection for your Fantasy Team, but, unlike the League & Cup Team Picks, you'll get a chance to correct any bad choices you make there, during the season.
To make the submission and administration a bit easier, the choices you need to make have been separated into three different forms. You can do them all at the same time, or take your time with them. I know many of you will be looking at data and information from a variety of sources to get the selections bang-on.....
All Teams will start with a coefficient based on last year's performance, and this year that ranking will be adjusted by this season's performance. In the Premier League Liverpool will start with a coefficient of 1.00 (the same for all the top teams in each division), Manchester United, for example, will start with 1.55
So here's your Links for the sets
Remember you're looking for teams to score you points every time they play. Typically they will get around 10 for a win, 4 for a draw, but the points are adjusted according to their opposition. A City 4-0 win at Home to Spurs, won't be as valuable as a Spurs 4-0 win away to City. The teams you pick in the Bottom Sections, remember, you are looking for them to SUCCEED, not get relegated.
We will cover all the 'equivalent' domestic FA Cups, across England, Scotland, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
There are also picks for the Carabao, and of course, the European Cups, even more intriguing with so many potential British Teams lining up on every midweek European Round.
Coefficients are obviously much higher for teams in lower divisions, and Cup Upsets can add big points. Tamworth's draw at home to Spurs last season was worth 34 points if you'd picked them as one of your FA Cup Picks. Spurs points for the game were 1.79. (The result used in Cup games is at the end of normal time in this world...)
And, the points increase as teams progress through the rounds.
And the outcomes are not always obvious. Palace top scored in the FA Cup last season - No-One had picked them
There's more re-vamp happened here than anywhere else for the New Season.
The categories have been reduced and simplified. You simply now pick 2 Keepers, 4 Forwards and 4 more players.
OK, there's a bit more to it, if you want to dig a bit further into it.
There will be more transfer windows this season, roughly 1 every 4/5 weeks, and, unlike Premier Fantasy Leagues, you aren't restricted to players from the Premier League.
You can choose from across Europe, and there's no budget cap either (none of that PSR tripe here)
There's more information on the form.
There's your three sets.
Now if you really want to understand not just the Picks, but the competitions that run off your 12 Score Predictions you make each week, then if you haven't, read this.... If I say so myself, I think it explains what's going on in my head quite accurately!!
The other data you might want to refer to when making your picks, is the table of coefficients. These will remain on the website, and changes will be recorded during the new season, highlighting teams that have improved, or gone the other way, the most.
And.... Don't forget to nominate New Players.... This all only works because of us all playing along with it.
