Season 26/27 - The Scoring and the Rules
The Essential Details This blog post won't provide flowery explanations about how the various competitions work. Instead, it focuses on the key details regarding points and rules. It's a reminder of how everything operates, and you might find it worth your time to read through, although in truth, I’ve mainly put it in a document to remind me of what was going on in my head when I built this 😳🙄. So here goes. The competition consists of two parts: The GuessWork and The Picks

World Cup 2026
There has to be a World Cup competition, doesn’t there. And the build started earlier in the year, and as at now (April) is almost complete, just a few tweaks needed 👍👍 It all Kicks off on 11th June and then on 19th July, 104 games later, the Champions of the World will be crowned, and then immediately have to hand the trophy over to Trump for him to keep with all the other trophies he’s collected. Cricket 2026
First year was just a trial, and Essex Wideboys (AKA Nobby's Nomads) took the acolades. In 2025 we expanded it, and RunningFox took all the honours. 2026, I'm going to change to format again, actually simplify it, and make it far more player choice centric than before. Scoring & Bankers Explained (kind of....)
This is an update from the original post way back in July '24, explaining the above, well hopefully explaining the above. And. I'm going to use a World Cup '26 example to highlight what the hell I'm going on about, and how points are awarded for guessing correctly, or wrongly, and then ‘Banking’ on it Strap in. Let's start with what points are on offer every game. A win for a team is worth 10 points PLUS the margin of the win A loss carries a penalty of the margin of the los
